One of the very first images of Auckland I took on my arrival on the 23rd April 2000. I stayed at the Auckland City Hostel in Liverpool Street for the first three weeks. On the second week I was walking down the once full of live Queen Street when I passed by a person that looked familiar. Couple of steps later I turned back and to my surprise it was a guy that used to surf with me in Brasil when we were 8-9 years old. I stayed with him on the 4th week in New Zealand. I got a job as a dishwasher at Gina’ s Pizza Bar on the 5th week where I met my new amazing family that I love enormously, Alessandro Fantoni and Joyce @mrsfantoni . This image was taken from Devonport with an old Canon EOS630 I bought in Brasil when I was 17 years old. A year later, this camera was stolen from my home at Turama Road, Royal Oak while I was working. All my photography equipment was gone and all the slides and negatives I had were left behind in the garden under rain after the break in. Anyway, this was the beginning of my life over here 😊 The song is still an iconic NZ tune by @sirdavedobbyn which brings me only good memories. One of them was the hours spent at the huge Real Groovey in Queen Street after long day surfing with my brother from another mother, Fernando Lau, who I also met here and that I have an absolute respect and gratitude for. #ginasitaliankitchen #akl #iconicnz #purenewzealand #canonnz #aucklandcity #davedobbyn

I always wanted to be a Lighting Director for movies, it has not happened yet but good to be close to the action. Lucky for my Canon R5 that could handle high ISO like a dream. #canonr5 #canoncamera #bts #movieset #campaignshoot. The BTS clips were mostly filmed on iPhone 12.
